A strange conspiratorial meeting is at the centre of Anna Hulačová's spatial installation. The faces of the strange table company are hidden behind white flower masks, facial expressions are unrecognisable and the consumption of food or drink is impossible. The theme of the table talk can be deduced from the title of the work: “Let’s talk about pollination”.

In hybrid images of nature and sculptures that can be half-human, half-plant, the Czech sculptor takes questions of today's agricultural culture further with a view to climate change and biodiversity. Her mutating organisms are creatures of an ecosystem that has lost its balance. In an idiosyncratically retro-futuristic style, she finds new forms that express a comprehensive process of adaptation to an increasingly inhospitable environment. Alternating between hard and soft, industrially manufactured and organic materials such as concrete, wood, honeycomb or papier-mâché, as well as deliberate stylistic references to folkloric traditions of Eastern Europe, Hulačová formulates visions of the future of an endangered environment and a fragile society. At the end of the table talk, the chairs remain deserted, but the masks are arranged into a bone-pale, sculptural still life of flowers.
